As business owners, we are constantly reminded that the top CEOs read 100s of books each year. Well, it is easy to read a bunch of books when you have a private jet, and someone makes all your meals.  As a small business, we make dinner and drive to soccer, but we still know reading and continuous learning are important.  Together, we can hold each other accountable and deepen the concepts through conversation.

How the Business Book Club Works

Meet virtually with your cohort once a month to discuss a book or concept. Each hour meeting will be facilitated to keep the discussion flowing.

Hold yourself and your peers accountable for reading and making the book concepts real.  Each cohort will be made up of small business owners from around the country and diverse industries.

Come together with all of the cohorts in an online forum to continue discussions, share resources, and generally network.

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” by Patrick Lencioni is a compelling leadership fable that uncovers the fundamental challenges that hinder team effectiveness. Lencioni explores the five interconnected dysfunctions: absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of commitment, avoidance of accountability, and, ultimately, inattention to results. Through a narrative centered on a struggling executive team, he illustrates how these dysfunctions undermine collaboration and success within organizations. Lencioni offers valuable insights on how to address these issues and build cohesive, high-performing teams, emphasizing the importance of trust, open communication, and shared accountability as key pillars of successful teamwork.
